Share your love of nature with others! Volunteers are a vital part of the LC Nature Park team. We could not achieve our mission of conservation, education, and experience without the help of our amazing volunteers. We have many opportunities at LC Nature Park to fit your schedule and interests.

Current Volunteer Openings

Trail Guide Docent

Lead students and groups on educational hikes, represent LC Nature Park at community events, and deliver nature-related programs. This will require the guide to be familiar with all aspects of the park, our goals and mission and be able to successfully relay that information to guests of all ages. Flexible schedule. Training is provided. 

Land Steward

Help preserve the park through stewardship activities like invasive species removal (honeysuckle, garlic mustard, etc.), trail maintenance (mowing, removing obstructions), native seed collection and other park projects when needed. This is a weekly/bi-weekly volunteer position. Training is provided.

Mills Education Center Guide

Welcome guests as they enter the MEC and assist them with information about the park. You will be collecting money for memberships, donations, and merchandise. This also includes administrative work like stuffing envelopes, taking inventory, and organizing files. Flexible schedule.

Teen Camp Volunteer

Teens ages 13-17 may apply to become a Volunteer Camp Counselor at Camp Trillium, a summer day camp for children ages 5-12. Teen Volunteer Camp Counselors should be friendly, outgoing, and eager to share their love of learning and the outdoors. Volunteers will assist Camp Trillium staff with daily duties, including activity setup, leading camp songs and games, and cleanup. Volunteers must commit to serving for one entire week of camp, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, and attend a mandatory orientation meeting on June 8, 2024.

If you would like to bring a group of volunteers, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at megan@lcnaturepark.org. Group volunteer opportunities include invasive species removal, seed collection, special events and more.

Special Events

LC Nature Park hosts multiple special events throughout the year, including Trillium Fest, National Bison Day, and Nature Steward Work Days (invasive species removal, seed collection, etc.). A volunteer application is not required for these opportunities as they only happen a few times a year.
